Sibson School of Flying - Learn to fly in the UK

Sibson School of Flying offers a comprehensive selection of pilot training courses, including the JAR UK Private Pilot's Licence and National PPL. For the PPL wishing to hone their skills, Sibson School of Flying also offers flight instruction for night and IMC qualifications as well as AOPA Aerobatic Certificate courses and Taildragger conversions.

The flying school is a well established flight training centre incorporating the skills and experience from all around the UK. At Sibson we have full and part time instructors who have been with us for many years, which has allowed us to provide continuity and consistency to our students and members.

Our aim is to provide a structured flight instruction programme working to an approved internationally agreed syllabus. Our students graduate as safe, competent pilots with a strong knowledge base from which they can develop their flying skills and experience further. Many of our students now have a career in aviation working for the airlines

Additionally, we provide number of unique courses designed for the enthusiast wishing to get a taste of flying and for those wishing to become a Safety Pilot.

At Sibson, we have dedicated lecture rooms to provide in-house PPL ground school on all tested subjects. We are also licensed to conduct Radio Telephony examinations.

The flying school has an extensive aircraft fleet providing good availability for training and hire. In addition to basic training aircraft we also have tail-dragger, aerobatic and vintage aircraft, which makes us one of the best equipped schools in the country.

The airfield at Sibson comprises of two CAA licensed grass runways, which allows us to operate safely under many different wind conditions.

The clubhouse has a warm friendly atmosphere that welcomes new members. The members of the club consist of students, PPL pilots, commercial pilots, aircraft owners and non-flyers interested in aviation.

Sibson School of Flying runs an active programme of flyouts, social events and competitions. A pilots shop, flight planning facilities, internet access and refreshments are available in the clubhouse.
